A fun spiral bound calendar comes from Chronicle Books and Redstone
Press: The 1997 Redstone Diary, "Maps to get lost in."

On the cover is the Beatus Mappamundi, 12th c.

Inside are found the following among others:

Map of Matrimony, from a Valentine card, 19th c.

Chinese Red, a map on the back of a crime thriller, c1948

Phrenological head maps, at least 2 were spotted

Japanese child's board game of a journey to Paradise, 20th century

     Numerous Adolf Wolfli drawings

Pilgrim's Way from Pilgrim's Progress, etc., etc.

Perfect mapnerd holiday gift. Look for this at your local bookstore.
     [isbn 0-8118-1392-4]

Our copy came from Seattle, a gift to Kristopher Cheppaikode on staff
here in the Map Div. We may purchase this for the Map Division, NYPL,
as a handout for the answer to that question-- "What is a map?"
