We circulate maps and have generally had very good luck.

However, we recently lost sheets 1 and 2 of the USGS Geologic
Map for Wyoming (1985, OCLC 23524407, 1:500,000). (The third
sheet is the bibliography.) The map is O.P. so we can't buy a
new one (although we had the satisfaction of charging the
borrower for lost material and sending the bill to the bursor's
office).

Does anyone know where we might get a replacement? Any vendor
who has a stockpile or used copies?

A draft ed. was published as an open file report, which we have
on b&w microfiche (USGS OFR 83-802). I can't find that it's
available on color microfiche, as are some other state
geological maps. Can't find a general statewide geologic map at
the Wyoming State Geological Survey web site, although you can
get coverage of lots of areas with larger scale maps from them
or in the USGS folded series. There is a digital version in
Arc/Info export format as OFT 94-0425, which can be downloaded.
I'm not sure that we could get this to successfully work with
ArcView, because in addition to the .e00 files there are a bunch
of AML scripts and the like.

Anyway, I guess you can get geologic coverage of the state one
way or another, so I wouldn't pay an arm and a leg for it, but
ideally I'd like a paper geologic map with statewide coverage to
replace the missing sheets.

thanks,
        Mark
