I suspect you mean IDRISI, which is maintained and sold by
the Dept of Geography at Clark University.  They have
an email address -  it's something like [log in to unmask]
bitnet - and we've been very happy with it here.  It's
inexpensive (as these things go - a couple hundred dollars),
good for students to learn on, has some image-processing
features. Susan Stonich in Anthro, and Jeff Star (in DC
but answering his email) have used/students have used,
