Also "Atlas of the Great Plains" by Stephen J. Lavin et al University
of Nebraska Press 2011 systematically incorporates comparable data for
Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba noting where appropriate
differences in the collection periods.

I noticed this when our copy arrived a year or two ago but not until
now realized some of the interesting cross border comparisons such as
decline of historic bison ranges, ancestry of population, national
legislative seats by party, and number of Wal Mart stores per million
people.
