If anyone wants more info regarding Audre, contact Gary Krinke
([log in to unmask]). he told me they have a web site (load
your browser with as much of the following as needed: Audre
          Incorporated homepage, San Diego).

we have worked with their engineering staff but have not
          used the product. LC

There are a number of packages which do this now, ranging from expensive,
special purpose packages such as Laser Scan's VTRAK to Arc/Info addons
like ArcScan and an AutoCAD addon called CADCore. A low-end standalone
is from a company called Audre but I don't know the name of their product.
