The Green Hills. The first settlers in the Hawkesbury district were
granted their allotments in 1794, by Lieutenant Governor Francis Grose.
Situated along South Creek, they names their settlement ‘Mulgrave
Place”, however within a short while, the greater area became
affectionately known as ‘The Green Hills”. This map contains most of the
original Land Grants, and was compiled entirely from early Parish Maps,
by courtesy of The New South Wales Department of Lands. Inset of picture
