Wangyal brings up a good point, our primary focus should be
to ensure that institutions, companies, and individuals DO
register their scanned map projects in at least one of these
portals so that folks can use them for sharing purposes. Of
course, David is also correct in that these types of
projects are "growing" rapidly out there and before too long
we should take that next major step -- merging these
databases into a single portal to maximize access to a wide
variety of useful materials to as many as possible in a
single place.
