Dear Joan,
I think that weserraum means that surrounding area of river Weser. It is
just the catchment area of the river.
Hope this will help you, Matthias Moeller.

Joan, I took a look at our 1960 U.S. Board of Geographic names Gazzateer
set for West and East Germany (vol. 47 of the set). I came up with these
possibilities:

Weseram - populated place - 5228N 1241E

Weser-Arm - a channel or canal
        See Rechter Nebenarm 5321N 831E

This set of Gazzateers in invaluable for geneology research in tracking
down old immigration record citations. Misspellings on those records are
common.

Does anyone on the list know if this gazzetter, around seventy volumes, has
ever been republished?
