*Technical Cataloging Librarian *

Our US Government client has a library collection focused on water
resources management, development and protection. The collection serves
federal agencies, private sector engineering and consulting firms, as
well as the general public. The library is comprised of a general
reference and circulating collection of approximately 65,000 monographic
titles including technical reports and 800 serial titles in a variety of
formats.

Library and information services encompass a range of activities from
the answering of information inquiries to the complex task of providing
state-of-the-art electronic information. The library provides access to
electronic bibliographic databases such as those from Online Computer
Library Center, Inc. (OCLC), Dialog, and those on CD-Rom and the Internet

If selected, you will perform original cataloging on books and reports,
assigning Library of Congress classification numbers and subject
headings. In the absence of knowledgeable trained library staff, you
will also assist with local Denver area and regional staff cataloging
questions and you may occasionally assist with reference services to
library patrons.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

-Two years OCLC cataloging experience with original cataloging
experience required

-A broad knowledge of scientific, engineering, and technical disciplines
sufficient to understand the significance and relationships of the
concepts and ideas contained in the material to be cataloged.

-An American Library Association (ALA) accredited Masters in Library
Science degree is preferred for this position.

The selected candidate will be subject to a National Agency Check
Investigation (NACI). Salary will be commensurate with experience.
