The Dartmouth College Library seeks an enthusiastic and innovative information professional to join a collaborative team at the Kresge Physical Sciences Library, providing information, instruction and collection services to faculty and students in the physical sciences, mathematics and computer science areas. This individual will actively participate in developing the library's educational program, both in the sciences and across the College.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Head, Kresge Physical Sciences Library, this person provides specialized scientific information, instruction, and collections services in a flexible and innovative environment. Actively participates in the Library's liaison program, with outreach and liaison responsibility for one or more specific departments, programs, and interdisciplinary research centers in the physical sciences, mathematics, or computer science. Develops and manages print and digital collections in liaison areas to support research and teaching.  Provides education and training in a variety of settings and on a variety of topics related to finding, evaluating and using scientific information. This position reports 25% to the Director of Library's Education & Outreach program, assisting with program development for information literacy initiatives both in the sciences and across the College. In consultation with the Head of Kresge Library, this person will develop and c!
 oordinate Kresge's education program initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS: ALA/MLS; educational background in the physical or mathematical sciences and experience in an academic or research environment preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; the ability to work effectively and collegially in small-group and team environments; a strong commitment to client service; demonstrated experience and enthusiasm in providing educational services; advanced science reference skills and proficiency in using information resources; familiarity with the scientific literature and with scientific research and publication trends; familiarity with use and application of computers in a fully networked campus environment.

RANK & SALARY:  This position is part of the Librarian Classification System of Professional Ranks.  Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications with minimum salary defined below:
        Librarian Professional I        $36,010
        Librarian Professional II       $40,195
        Librarian Professional III      $44,108
Full benefits package including 22 vacation days; comprehensive health care; retirement plans, including TIAA-CREF; and relocation assistance.
