Subject: new publication....

On the way back into my office about an hour a publication sitting on one
of our many book trucks here in Technical Services waiting to be processed
caught my eye. Actually the "Western Association of Map Libraries" portion
of the title caught my eye--so I stopped and picked it up and what a
pleasant surprise! Since I'm not sure how widely publicized this title is I
thought I'd pass it along to all of my cartographic friends and colleagues
via Maps-L. The publication is:

Western Association of Map Libraries and Geoscience Information Society
Joint Field Trip, November 11, 2000
The Truckee River Corridor and Donner Pass, Nevada and California

written and led by Joe Lintz, Professor Emeritus and Linda Newman,
Geoscience Librarian, University of Nevado, Reno

Yea Linda! This brief, but very informative publication was really fun to
peruse, I will wait till it is cataloged and on our shelves though before
checking it out to read from cover to cover! Naturally, the fieldtrip came
from the Fall 2000 joint WAML/GIS meeting held in Reno last November. I
won't take the time to check but I'm sure its available via the WAML website.

Anyway, its always a pleasure to see publications from folks I know in the
map librarian and/or cartographic world so I thought I'd share!

Sincerely,

Paige Andrew
