        This message is being cross-posted on two lists.  Please excuse the
duplication.
 
HELENJANE ARMSTRONG IS 1993 MAGERT HONORS AWARD RECIPIENT
 
        HelenJane Armstrong, map librarian at the University of Florida-
Gainsville, is the 1993 MAGERT Honors Award Recipient.  The MAGERT Honors
Award is presented annually to a member of the Map and Geography Round
Table and it recognizes outstanding achievement and major contributions
to map librarianship and the Round Table.  Anyone who knows HelenJane
knows that her contributions to the profession have been many and
significant.  She has been in the forefront of map librarianship at the
state, regional and national levels.  HelenJane's talents are many and
diverse.  She has made a mark on the profession of map librarianship and
has set an example for all to follow and achieve.
 
        The presentation of the honors award certificate was made on
Saturday, June 26th, at the MAGERT Honors Reception, Hotel St. Marie,
during the the American Library Association's Annual Conference.  On
hand to help HelenJane share in this moment were members of MAGERT and
GODORT and four previous MAGERT Honors Award Recipients (Stan Stevens,
Gary North, Betsy Mangan, and Mary Larsgaard).
