The School of Geosciences and Archaeological Computing Laboratory (ACL)
at the University of Sydney is seeking an innovative and highly
motivated person to coordinate GIS related activities associated with a
large ARC Linkage research project.  The GIS Coordinator will join a
multi-disciplinary team based in the University of Sydney and work
closely with researchers from the ACL and School of Geosciences.  The
broader project will investigate cultural and natural landscape change
in Angkor, Cambodia involving collaboration with international and
national Industry Partners including UNESCO and APSARA (Cambodian
Government authority).

The position will coordinate the integration, analysis and documentation
of GIS data and provide technical support for spatial modelling and
remote sensing applications relating to the project.  The successful
applicant must have a sound knowledge of GIS analysis and modelling
principles and technical proficiency in advanced GIS software
applications.

Applicants should have high level communication and interpersonal skills
including the ability to liaise and negotiate with government
departments, industry representatives and other project participants.

The position is full-time fixed term for 1.5 years subject to the
completion of satisfactory probation for new appointees. Membership of a
University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment
for new appointees. Successful applicants will be asked to provide proof
of Australian citizenship or a valid work visa appropriate to the term
of the position.
