Subject: Map Curators’ Group Annual Workshop, Leicester - call for papers

The Map Curators’ Group (MCG) of the British Cartographic Society will hold its Annual Workshop in Leicester, England, on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th September 2013. The workshop is part of the British Cartographic Society’s symposium Mapping 2013: Today, tomorrow and beyond… Further information is available: http://www.cartography.org.uk/default.asp?contentID=1063

In the year the Society celebrates its 50th anniversary the MCG workshop theme will be

“Then and now: the changing face of map curatorship”.

The organisers are calling for proposals for presentations to be given at the Workshop, on the following themes:

• Retrospectives of individual map collections

• Historical aspects of map curatorship and librarianship

• Recent initiatives in map collections

• Future developments in map collections

• Any other topic relevant to the subject.

Those people making presentations at the Workshop will be given a day’s registration to the event and one night’s accommodation if required. Generally, presentations are made using PowerPoint, and should last approximately 30 minutes. Talks will take place on Tuesday 3rd September 2013.
