The face of the USGS State Indexes to Topographic Maps have been changed to
a new single sheet format map index of the States.  About a third of new
single sheet indexes have been printed of the States and are now in the
Map Distribution Branch, U.S. Geological Survey, Box 25286, Denver Federal Cente
r
Denver, Colorado 80225.  The following is a list of those new indexes of the
States that are printed:   STATES OF:  ALABAMA, CALIFORNIA, IDAHO, INDIANA,
KANSAS, KENTUCKY, MICHIGAN, NEBRASKA, OKALAHOMA, SOUTH CAROLINA, TENNESSEE,
WASHINGTON, WEST VIRGINIA, and also PUERTO RICO.
 
The remainder of the States to be done are in stages of preparations for
printing, with the completion of the program set to made by late summer 1994.
 
For those interested in ordering map coverage, the Catalogs of Topographic
and Other Published Maps of the States will still be used reference the
File Numbers identifying the maps for Ordering.
