Colleagues -

Since most, or many, of the subscribers of Maps-L and MapHist are in
Chicago visiting the Newberry Library and the Festival of Maps at the
Field Museum and other locations I thought I would offer a preview of
our progress in a project called /Imaging the Urban Environment /and
specifically our interest in digitally imaging maps from our Paris
collection. One of the first to become available is the Bretez/Turgot
Plan de Paris which may be viewed at
http://nrs.harvard.edu/urn-3:FHCL:1168803. Additional Parisian materials
are forthcoming.
