Any suggestions for a projection which is suitable for a map between
about 10-40 degrees sth and 104-118 degrees east (30 lat x 14 long)?
Scale of the map will be somewhere around the 1:2 Million mark.

We are looking for an 'all rounder' - compromise of equidistance and
     conformality mainly. All ideas welcome.

Also, can someone point me to a GOOD web site which has information on
     projections, datums etc

     Thanks in advance.
