I'd suggest rolling the maps and putting them into tubes.  Even better,
there are cardboard boxes made to hold rolled maps (like 16 in one long
box), and you can label each space.  Ask someone who works there for a
catalog of GSA furniture and office supplies.  If they don't have map
storage equipment, some of the larger office supply catelogs will.
 
I'd appreciate it if you would send more information on M. Larsgaard's
book (title, publisher, date).
