Subject: FW: USSR maps needed

------------------

Dear colleagues,

Researchers from the Baikal Archaeology Project at the University of
Alberta
are in need of four USSR 1:200,000 topographic sheets to complete
coverage
of their study area. A jpeg of one of the adjacent sheets and an index
can
be found at the following link:
http://baikal.arts.ualberta.ca/files/maps/

The header on the map is Federal'naia Sluzhba Geodezii i Kartografii
Rossii
and was published by Rosskartografia, Moscow (Russian Federation). The
maps
they already have are dated from the 1990's but their concern is more
for
the topographic information rather than the date.
The 4 sheets needed are:
    NO-47-30
    NO-48-23
    NO-48-25
    NN-48-07

These sheets are listed on the OmniMap site but are apparently not
available.
Does anyone know of a source for these maps - either for purchase or
loan;
paper of digital?

Please respond directly to: Bonnie Gallinger, Maps Assistant
