GOT MAPS?
If the answer is "yes," this program at ALA's annual conference, jointly
sponsored by MAGERT and ALCTS (the Association for Library Collections &
Technical Services), may be just what you need. The program will be held
Saturday, June 16, from 9AM to 12:30 PM at the Hilton-Union Square
22. Description from ALA's website is as follows:

"Got maps? You have them, and you want users to find them in your catalog.
You have cataloging personnel who don't usually handle maps. What's the
solution? Come to this map cataloging presentation. We will go over the
basics of map cataloging for the experienced cataloguer. Corporate authors?
Which title? This workshop covers the similarities and differences between
map cataloging and book cataloging. Bring all your questions and the
amazing map catalogers will answer all! Speakers: Kathryn Womble, Head Map
Collection, University of Washington; Susan M. Moore, Cataloging Librarian
and Bibliographer, University of Northern Iowa."

Hope to see you there. Check out the rest of MAGERT's San Francisco
schedule at http://www.sunysb.edu/libmap/magprogs.htm
