Subject: Fall WAML Conference (fwd)

Cross posted to increase readership:

Planning for the WAML meeting September 8-11 in Alaska is in the advanced
stages.

Thanks to Cynthia Jahns and associates at UCSC a website with the
preliminary details is now available at:

http://library.ucsc.edu/maps/WAML/index.html

Important highlights to note:

The conference will be split between Fairbanks and Denali National Park.

The registration and speaker information will be added in June.

The registration will include a Fairbanks - Denali round trip train
ticket.

A short local tour in Fairbanks will include stops of professional
cartographic interest.

An optional day long tour in Denali National Park will be via the regular
Park Service shuttle buses. There will be no group bus. Individuals will
be responsible for choosing their own bus times and destinations as well
as paying for this portion on their own. Suggestions are given on the
above web page.

Specific questions can be directed to me at [log in to unmask]

Hope to see all of you there!
