Thank you for your comments concerning
the test scans of some U.S. Army Map Service
indexes to map series that my library put up on the Web a
while back.  The response was very positive,
so we now have a project to scan about 200
of these indexes, starting the project in January
of 2002.  After we've done a pilot test, we'll
be able to give you an estimate of when
the scanning will be complete.

We are scanning only the indexes to map
series of non-U.S. countries, e.g., we will
not be scanning the indexes to the 1:50K
and 1:25K map series for states of
the United States.

The scans will be made available over the Web.
