Hi Kathleen,

The Newberry Library holds 5 original Photo Auto Guides: Chicago to New
York (1907), Chicago to Milwaukee (1905 and 1909 eds.), Chicago to
Cleveland (1909), and Chicago to Lake Geneva (1905), all described in
more detail in the Newberry Library Cartographic Catalog
<http://www.biblioserver.com/newberry/index.php?m=search&id=&ftype=data&q=Rand%20McNally%20and%20Company.%20Photo%20auto%20guide>.

More importantly for your patron, a reprint of the Chicago to Lake
Geneva volume was published in 2008 by the Chicago Map Society as
Chicago-Lake Geneva : a 100 year road trip : retracing the route of a
1905 H. Sargent Michaels guide for motorists (ISBN 9780911028829). This
is supplemented with new photographs of each intersection shown in the
original edition, and includes a 9-page introduction by Robert Karrow.

Copies of the reprint are available for $17.95 at the Newberry’s A.C.
McClurg Bookstore (312-255-3520 --- [log in to unmask])

All best, Pat Morris
