A consultant is a great idea. In the early 70s George Dalphan came from
Dartmouth to McGill to recommend what to do with widely and wildy dispersed
map collections. Many of his recommendations have been carried out. Sadly
we never got to be as 'world class' as he had hoped- very little moeny put
in the collections over the years. But it's a great idea- probably better
than visiting well-run collections. [log in to unmask]
