Just in from Trinidad & Tobago:

Dear colleagues,

The Seismic Research Unit of the University of the West Indies is pleased
to announce the release of a new book:

Volcanic Hazard Atlas of the Lesser Antilles.
Edited by Lindsay, J.M., Robertson, R.E.A., Shepherd, J.B. & Ali, S.
and published by the Seismic Research Unit, The University of the West
Indies, Trinidad and Tobago, W.I.

This book is a comprehensive reference text on volcanism in the Lesser
Antilles, providing an up-to-date summary of the current understanding of
the evolution and hazards of West Indian volcanoes. It is pertinent to a
broad audience ranging from island residents wanting to learn about nearby
volcanoes to volcanologists from other regions interested in these
impressive volcanoes.
Each of a dozen chapters summarises the volcanic history of an island or,
in the case of Kick 'em Jenny, a submarine volcanic centre. Past activity,
including historical and dated eruptions, is summarised, as are notable
seismic swarms and locations and characteristics of geothermal areas.
Detailed discussion of hazards from specific volcanic processes expected in
future scenarios is used to generate hazard maps for each volcano. The
Atlas also includes a regional synthesis of volcanic setting, volcano
monitoring and volcanic hazards and a glossary of scientific terms. An
accompanying map pocket contains large poster-sized versions of the hazard
maps for individual islands and a new geological map of Dominica.

International orders may be placed by filling out the order form available at:
