I worked at Devry University for about five years and had access to a
D-size HP DesignJet (sorry, I don't remember the model number) for
just about any kind of large document from maps to signs to posters.
We probably used it for 20-25 prints per week until final project time
when the usage stepped up to about 50 per week. Since we were in the
engineering hotbed of the South Bay/Long Beach, we had no difficulty
with HP Service, from them, not from a dealer, which I found rather
different.
