Greetings all Federal Map Depositories,

Please pardon any duplication. Robin may have already sent this to Maps-l,
but I wanted to be sure that all map librarians that deal with census data
and maps, paper or electronic, have an opportunity to respond to this
survey. Thanks.

Subject: Economic Census User Survey

***Please answer the Economic Census User Survey at
www.census.gov/econlibsurvey between now and January 22, 2001.***

Dear Depository Librarian:

The Census Bureau is now planning how it will publish the 2002 Economic
Census. As someone who probably has worked with 1997 Economic Census or
earlier data, you can give the Census Bureau valuable counsel on the design
of its data products?reports, databases, and websites. You can help them
understand how well Economic Census products have met your needs and those
of your data users. Your responses will help identify needed improvements
to future products intended for you.

This survey is being conducted under OMB Clearance number 0607-0670,
approval for which expires
September 28, 2001.

We expect that it will take you about five minutes to answer the questions
and give your opinions. Your participation is voluntary and your responses
will be kept confidential--the Census Bureau will use your responses to
help them serve you better. Please answer the Economic Census User Survey
at www.census.gov/econlibsurvey between now and January 22, 2001. If you
have patrons or colleagues who use Economic Census data, please encourage
them to complete a similar form linked through the Economic Census website
at www.census.gov/econ97.

Please feel free to call the Census Bureau at (301) 457-4151 or email
[log in to unmask] if you have any questions.

Thanks for your help.
