Katherine Rankin and Mary Larsgaard's article on basic map librarianship,
"Helpful Hints for Small Library Collections", was published in the
May/June 1996 issue of the Public Library Association journal _Public
Libraries_.  The article covers collection development for various types
of cartographic material and reference sources, cataloging and
classification, storage and preservation, names of map librarian groups
and the addresses of companies and organizations mentioned in the article.
