Subject: Large format scanners

Hi all, We're potentially on the market for a large format scanner for maps and posters. The folks in preservation have asked that I solicit info from those in the know.

A few questions for you:
- What scanner model do you use?
- What software do you use with it? (default or otherwise)
- Do you (or the people doing the scanning) find the scanner to be user friendly?
- If you've had any problems with the equipment, has the company been supportive?
- Are you generally pleased with your “overall scanner experience,” so to speak?

Please contact me at [log in to unmask], because I may have some additional questions for you too.

Many thanks!
Margaret
