Subject: Question about USGS/AGI Global GIS Database CDs

I have a patron using the USGS/AGI Global GIS Database CDs (U.S. Geological
Survey digital data series DDS-62-A-G). He noticed a number of errors in the
data and I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this. He mentioned two
of the errors he found: the oil and gas layer does not show that there are
oil reserves in the North Sea and the geology layer shows Scotland as a
sedimentary basin. He also mentioned that there are some labeling problems
with political entities. He has emailed the USGS contact listed on the CD.
If folks are interested, I can email the list once he hears back. Has anyone
else found errors in the data on these CDs?

Also, since this data appears to be unreliable, we are now looking for GIS
data with coverage of the entire world showing oil and gas fields,
sedimentary basins, and mud volcanoes. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.
