When a map has no named cartographer, engraver, or date, it is often
difficult to allocate an exact source for it. This book provides a
factual resource to help, particularly the beginner, by providing
illustrations and descriptive text on all the maps that relate to the
eighteenth century cartography of Canada.. Inevitably, some of these
maps also relate to the cartography of the northern United States. Many
of the maps described here are also quite rare and accordingly this book
will also assist experts when faced with one of these uncommon items.

This final volume covers the Province of Quebec, the Siege of Quebec,
Quebec City, Montreal, the De Fonte controversy, and maps of the West
Coast.

Each map, and in some instances, different states are illustrated. As a
result most maps can be identified simply by comparing the map with the
illustrations. However, full cartobibliographic information, including
locations of the material that has been located and examined, is
provided.

Finally, a full title index is provided as a short cut to
identification.
