        19th International Conference on the History of Cartography

                           Madrid, July 1-6 2001
        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     The conference will be held in the air-conditioned Conference Room of
     the Biblioteca Nacional.  The theme is 'The Cartography of Spain and
     Iberoamerica' but abstracts [closing date *1 October 2000* ] may be
     submitted on any aspect of the history of cartography.  The conference
     will be conducted in English, French and Spanish, with simultaneous
     translation between Spanish and English.
     The History of Cartography is thoroughly inter-disciplinary.  Papers
     are particularly invited from those who bring insights from other
     fields.
     The full text of the 'Call for Papers' can be found at:-
