So Tufts annual GIS Poster Expo is this Thursday May 10^th . There will
be around 100 student submissions alongside faculty research. Some of
this year’s projects include mapping and spatial analysis of shipping
access to Arctic natural resources, conflict and drought in Kenya,
access to health care in North Korea, wind farm siting, patterns of
conflict and access to education in Uganda, floods in Thailand,
walkability studies, water resource modeling, and many many more. We
will be serving food and refreshments as well. Everyone is welcome!

2012 GIS POSTER EXPO

Alumnae Lounge, Aidekman Arts Center,

Talbot Ave., Medford Campus

Hosted by Tufts GIS Center, UIT

Please join us for a campus-wide exposition of the GIS (Geographic
Information Systems) work being done at Tufts. We are looking for
students to present their work at Tufts Seventh Annual GIS Poster
Exposition. Students will present their work along with Tufts faculty
and staff. Refreshments will be provided.

Awards: Two “Best of Show” prizes of $100 each and four runner-up awards
of $50 each will be awarded to students.

Evaluation Criteria: Entries will be evaluated on both content and design.

Eligibility: Any Tufts undergraduate, graduate student, or student group
are eligible for the awards. Faculty and staff are also encouraged to
contribute their posters.

Specifications: Posters must include (1) your name(s), (2) department,
(3) title, (4) maximum size: 30” x 40”

Registration: If you are not in a GIS class and plan to submit a poster,

Printing Deadline: Posters can be printed in the GIS Center through
Wednesday May 9th. We will not be available to help you print on
Thursday May 10th.
