Just received from Glen Creason, Los Angeles Public Library, History Dept.:
Exhibit of pictorial maps from LAPL's collection on display at Central Library
June 7-September 3
"Los Angeles,California, and the World: Pictorial Maps from the Los Angeles
Public Library's Collection," an exhibit featuring colorful, richly illustrated
maps depicting Los Angeles as early as 1871, will be on display at the Central
Library's Main Floor Galleries, Fifth and Flower streets, downtown Los Angeles,
June 7-September 3.  The exhibit is highlighted by a 1933 illustrated map of
Mexico, and a 1936 illustrated map of Peking, China.  This free exhibit is on
view during the Central Library's regularservice hours.  Pakring is available at
the 524 S. Flower St. Garage, located under the Library's Maguire Gardents.  The
Central Library is located in the ninth Council District, represented by
Councilmember Rita Walters.

five years of various kinds of work to get this display up.
