The map Interest Committee of the Northern Ohio Bibliophilic
Society (NOBS) will meet Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 6:00 -
7:30 p.m. at the Chicago Title Company, 1275 Ontario St.
    in downtown Cleveland.
Since shortly before the Civil War, Chicago Title and its
predecessors have been collecting, storing, and researching
    data on local land parcels.
This is a rare opportunity to visit the private facility
and to see how maps provide access to a huge volume of
title records. Bill Barrow will outline the evolution of
the system during the 19th century.
Also, stay tuned for info about the April meeting at
Western Reserve Historical Society with noted Civil War
    map expert David Bosse.
For further information about the meeting contact either:
Maureen Farrell, Cleveland Public library Map Collection
      (216) 623-2880 [log in to unmask]
or the peripatetic Bill Barrow, (Cleveland State University,
Wwestern Reserve Historical Society etc.) (216) 585-9716
