INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES ON THE HISTORY OF CARTOGRAPHY

The Directors of Imago Mundi Ltd considered various
proposals for hosting the 2001 and 2003 conferences and made
the following choices:
 
  2001 Nineteenth Conference - MADRID
  2003 Twentieth Conference - NEW ENGLAND
 
The Madrid conference (2001) will be organised jointly by
the Biblioteca Nacional (Carmen Liter), the Museo Naval (M.
Luisa Martin-Meras) and the Universidad Complutense (Mariano
Cuesta).
 
The New England conference (2003) will be organised by
Harvard University, Map Collection (David Cobb) and the
University of Southern Maine, Osher Map Library (Matthew
Edney).

The Seventeenth Conference will be held in Lisbon next year
(6-10 July 1997) and the Eighteenth Conference in Athens in
July 1999.
