Thank you, Maps-L readers, for your responses about your experiences and
policies regarding barcoding maps.  Getting fairly positive feedback
about
barcoding going on for more than 10 years was reassuring.  Hearing more
than once that thickness has not turned out to be a problem, and that
adhesive does not seem to migrate and make maps adhere to one another
have
made the new procedure seem more acceptable.  But the initial protection
of
fragile and rare material, while it should happen anyway, sounds like a
must before barcoding.
