Subject: New Ontario atlas and Ontario CD-ROM series...

Dear Map Folks,

Below are two new items recently published and received that may be of
interest to members of this list.

Faithfully,
Brad Green

        ISBN 0968077234
        Scale 1:250,000 / 1:1,000,000
        Date 07/01/2000
        8.5 inch x 11 inch
        CAN $ 19.95

The Ontario Road and Recreational atlas is spiral bound and is an
excellent combination
of geographic information for Ontario. This atlas indicates that it
is the 2nd edition but
is actually significantly different than the 1st edition that covered
only Southern
Ontario. One of the outstanding features of this atlas is that for
Northern Ontario it
shows the NTS (National Topographic Series) grid for the 1:250,000
topographic maps
which is very useful. The base material for all maps was provided by
the Ontario
Ministry of Transportation and shows the loose surface roads, a very
important feature
for cyclists but these maps do not show regional road names... The
gazetteer shows
both communities AND features such as lakes, rivers, etc. with their
page number and
a letter number grid. Also included is detailed information of parks,
conservation areas,
ski areas and northern Ontario fishing & hunting outfitters with
their website address
   and contact info.

        ISBN QVNONTS
        Scale 1:50,000
        Date 07/01/2000
        CAN $ 189.95

Ontario South CD-ROM by Quo Vadis is a collection of 240 topographic
maps at scale
1:50,000 in a scanned format and "geo-referenced" ready for use with,
for example,
GPS receivers. The CD covers all the 1:50,000 maps in Ontario South
of 47 degrees
North. There are also several other products available covering North
Eastern Ontario, North Western Ontario,
Quebec and regions of British Columbia, contact World of Maps for
more information.
