We will have to wait until GPO creates a record for it.

In the past, the map was part of the USDA'S miscellaneous publications
series. The first one from 1965 had the following call number:
A 1.38:814/2
The 2001 edition had the following call number:
A 1.38:1475/2001

According to the Index to USDA Miscellaneous Publications, misc.
publication 1475 was first published in 1990.
I imagine then the call number for the 2012 edition will be:
A 1.38:1475/2012
I already printed the U.S. one out, as well as, one for Washington State
and another one for the Northwest region. I imagine we will have to
create local call numbers for the state and regional maps.
The maps look great!!

When someone catalogs this website, will you send the OCLC no. to the
list? Pretty please?

Thanks.

Angie

Hello,

This is from today's USDA News:

"WASHINGTON, Jan. 25, 2012--The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)
today released the new version of its Plant Hardiness Zone Map (PHZM),
updating a useful tool for gardeners and researchers for the first time
since 1990 with greater accuracy and detail. The new map—jointly
developed by USDA's Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and Oregon State
University's (OSU) PRISM Climate Group—is available online at
www.planthardiness.ars.usda.gov. ARS is the chief intramural scientific
research agency of USDA.

For the first time, the new map offers a Geographic Information System
(GIS)-based interactive format and is specifically designed to be
Internet-friendly. The map website also incorporates a "find your zone
by ZIP code" function. Static images of national, regional and state
maps have also been included to ensure the map is readily accessible to
those who lack broadband Internet access."
