We have an HP DesignJet 5500ps and it is a work horse. We've had this
since ... I want to say 2005 or 2006. It can print 42 or 60 inch wide,
glossy or standard paper. It's fairly easy to change the paper, it's
fairly easy to send print jobs to. We've even used a sheet feed option
if you're crazy enough to try and want a 2 sided copy --- or reuse some
of those duplicate maps by printing on the back.

The quality of printing is fantastic for both maps and photos. Staff at
the AGSL love it.

Susan,
We just ordered the HP DesignJet Z6100PS "the 42 inch version". I'm just waiting for it to be installed in our GIS lab.

Posting for a colleague.

Greetings!

Can anyone recommend a large color printer that prints at least 36"
wide? We'll be using this for printing large reproductions of photos,
maps, etc, as well as creating displays and exhibits. Ideally, it would
handle at least 300 dpi with ease. We're just starting to explore this,
but plan on purchasing something soon.

Thanks
