Today I received a plain brown envelope. Inside was a bookseller's
catalogue. In the catalogue were offers for sale of 'Printed maps of
London circa 1553-1850' by James Howgego, 2nd ed. (Folkestone: Dawson,
1978), ISBN 0-7129-0821-8; and of 'Printed maps of Victorian London
1851-1900' by Ralph Hyde (Folkestone: Dawson, 1975 [not 1978 as per
catalogue]), ISBN 0-7129-0639-8. Multiple copies (described as in "Very
good" condition) of these two important items are numbered 57 (with
dust-jackets) and 60 (without dust-jackets) respectively in the catalogue
code-named 'Epithet'. Copies of each, at Pounds Sterling 25.00, are still
available from:-
