   Those who covet a  copy of the Times atlas but are unable or unwilling to
pay $175 may be interested in the fact that the 8th comprehensive ed. (1990) is
listed in a current remainder catalog for $60. (Daedalus Books, PO Box 9132,
Hyattsville, MD 20781-0932)
 
  I've read that globe manufactures have been unable to sell pre-1992 inventory
.  I'm one who is willing to use her own World Almanac --and who has daily
access to an up-to-date map library  :.)--to update a classic home atlas or
globe.  Does anyone know of a source for remaindered globes?
