   Joan Winearls, Map Librarian, University of Toronto, was awarded the Marie Tr
emaine Medal by the Bibliographical Society of Canada for her contributions to c
arto-bibliography, and particularly for her book MAPPING UPPER CANADA, 1780-1867
, An Annotated Bbliography of Manuscript and Printed Maps (University of Toronto
 Press, 1991).
   I am sure all Joan's map library friends join me in congratulating her. It is
 nice to see such work recognized by non-map people.  Well done, Joan!!
