[Cross-posted to maphist, maps-l and lis-maps with apologies for any
duplication]

A review of user services at the National Library of Scotland Map
Library is currently being undertaken by an external market research
agency.

We would be very grateful if anyone who has used our services in any
form (in person in the reading room, by telephone, e-mail or letter
enquiry, through the website, or through a talk or visit) could spend a
minute or two answering a questionnaire.

The questionnaire is available at:
http://www.scotinform.co.uk/Onlinesurveys/NLS_Map_Collections/nls_maps_2
009.htm

The deadline for electronic responses is the end of next week, 18
December 2009.

We are also mailing out paper versions of the questionnaire to users who
have visited us in the last three months. The deadline for this is 8
January. Please let us know (to mailto:[log in to unmask] ) if you would prefer
to complete a paper questionnaire.

We would be grateful if this message could be passed on to those not on
these lists who you know have used us. This includes visitors to the Map
Curators' Group workshop in September, and the Scottish Maps Forum's
Mapping and Antiquities seminar in October.

As an additional incentive, those who complete a questionnaire can also
enter a free prize draw to win one of two free atlases - a Times Concise
Atlas of the World (2009) or John Thomson's Atlas of Scotland (2008
facsimile of 1832 original).

Many thanks for your assistance in this matter.
