Please see the following about a major update to the USGS Store online:

Easier Ordering of Published Maps AND Free Downloading of GeoPDF Files: A
new ?Map Locator and Downloader? in the USGS Store (store.usgs.gov) was
launched to help visitors with two tasks:

        1. Finding and ordering topo maps of any place in the U.S. and
Antarctica.
                        2. Downloading new GeoPDF files derived from
scans of the topo maps.
The Map Locator and Downloader is a complex set of web-based programs
using new Web technologies and data from several sources behind a
deceptively simple user interface. An important feature is the Google
Maps interface, enabling visitors to see maps and satellite imagery over
much of the world. In addition to the Google data, a seamless USGS topo
map view is included where USGS topo maps exist (in the U.S.).
GeoPDF files are georegistered digital map derivations of the original
electronic files that enable non-GIS professionals to more easily utilize
rich spatial information. GeoPDF data available through this system will
be expanded to include higher resolution scans of historic topo quads,
other historic map products, and new products being produced from The
National Map.
