I just noticed that the USGS "I" series seems to have a new series
name. For decades this has been known as the MISCELLANEOUS
INVESTIGATIONS SERIES. I received USGS I 2616 and this is now their
     GEOLOGIC INVESTIGATIONS SERIES.

The USGS already has a GEOLOGIC QUADRANGLE SERIES "GQ"; why does the
world need a GEOLOGIC INVESTIGATIONS SERIES?

     Thanks for any clarification.
