The Corlis Benefideo Award for Imaginative Cartography, sponsored by the
North American Cartographic Information Society (NACIS), is open for
nominations. The biennial award will be presented at NACIS's annual
conference in Minneapolis in October 2015.

First presented in 2013, the Corlis Benefideo Award recognizes
map-makers who venture into the world of the possible while grounding
themselves in modern cartography's insistence on objectivity and the
depiction of fact. Some explore real places from perspectives that allow
us to see the world fresh and full of possibility. Others take our
established traditions of map-making and turn them on their heads, or
make them into a mirror so we can see ourselves anew. Still others push
the limits of new technology to change the definitions of maps
themselves. This award recognizes this work, the perspective it brings
to the field of cartography, and the contributions it makes to the world
as a whole.

Members and non-members of NACIS are eligible to nominate.

Further information and an online nomination form are available at:
