Mary et al,

Here at the Illinois State Library we have the following:

Vidar Tru-Scan Titan II color scanner
Xerox Xpress color printer (inkjet) w/ ZEH NetPlot software
Dell Precision 220 workstation
Ricoh MP 7120A CD-R/RW drive

Xerox 2510 b&w engineering copier

As for copying we charge .25 per square foot or fraction thereof, $1 for
color. We also charge $1 per square ft. for color scanning to user-provided
disc. All we want is to recoup paper & ink costs. I do have a couple of
exceptions though: I don't charge for copying ILL requests (the less
circulating of maps the better) nor do I charge public libraries in the
state for any copy requests unless they want multiple color copies.

Greetings

I have a question regarding charging for printing from large scale
plotters. We have a large scale plotter 36 inch which we use for GIS
which we plan to network and charge using a "pay-for-print" system. We
are wondering what charging models other libraries are using for large
scale plotters. We are trying to decide between charging per linear foot
(up to 1 linear foot $2, up to two linear feet $3, etc.) or by charging
by set sizes (11x17 in, 2x3 ft, etc.) Any information that anyone can
give would be appreciated. We are also interested in hearing about price
ranges for printing if possible.

Thanks in Advance
