A little pre-release news:

BACKGROUND:
Many of you are familiar with the Centennia Historical Atlas software. The
current edition covers Europe and the Middle East 1000AD to the present and is
available for DOS, Windows, and Macintosh. If you want more info, visit
http://www.clockwk.com. [while you're there, those with an interest in slightly
odd maps might like to look at the "science stuff" link].

COMING "SOON" (in the software biz, that's as precise as it gets): the Western
Hemisphere edition of Centennia will be shipping soon. This covers North and
Central America (and South if it's ready in time) from the beginning of the 2nd
century AD to the present. This new edition incorporates advanced graphics
technology for smoother, more aesthetic animation and will at first only be
available for Windows 3.1/95 (Win95 preferred). There will be a Mac version
later... but no DOS version. This edition includes much finer geographic detail,
shaded relief, and also includes geographic changes --you can actually watch the
meandering Mississippi (anyone have an Arkansas River meander history handy??)
and see the addition of hundreds of artificial lakes in the 20th century.
Needless to say, it also incorporates all the mappable political history we
could squeeze in including Native American history where possible.

I hope this message doesn't seem inappropriate to anyone. We're not taking
orders for this new product --watch the web page for annoucncements-- but I
thought people might like a sneek peek of what's coming.
