Branner Library is on the hunt for an earth sciences librarian new or
fairly new to the field to join our great team of science and
engineering librarians. Please consider the position or pass this
information along to a colleague that would be a good fit. We had
previously posted a position for the head of the library. That position
has been closed and reworked as a position for a new/beginning librarian.

The Libraries are seeking an innovative candidate with a background in
earth and/or environmental sciences.The position will provide a fast

professionally flourish in a creative work environment.We seek a
librarian who will combine skills in outreach, technology and subject
expertise to provide new direction and focus for support provided to the
four departments in the School of Earth Sciences.

The Librarian is a member of the Science and Engineering Resource Group
(SERG) and participates actively in the Group's programs.SERG’s focus is
to remake the traditional science libraries into more responsive,
dynamic, and flexible information centers.This is being carried out
through a series of initiatives in which the Earth Sciences Librarian
will be an integral part.Innovative ideas and an ability to adapt to and
create change are highly valued skills for the person in this
position.In short, the Librarian for Earth Sciences should be an
energetic and flexible colleague who is looking towards the future and
wants to be an integral part of creating a new model of digital
librarianship.
